Honest
Notes, not marketing. Tasting, scoring, and judgement without hype or borrowed opinions.
Est. London, MMXVIIICollector and host. The hand behind the diary, the table behind Ember Leaf, and the record behind the cigars worth remembering.
I founded KD Leaf Diaries in London in 2018 to keep an honest record of the Cuban cigars worth remembering, with a particular focus on Regional Editions, collecting context, and what is actually worth smoking.
What began as a private notebook became a disciplined record. Then it became a table. Ember Leaf grew out of that same approach, bringing collectors together in London and across Europe for cigars that deserve the right room.
I share the diary rather than sell hype. The goal is simple. Clear notes. Real context. Better judgement. Better company.
I collect Cuban cigars, smoke them with attention, and keep a record that values flavour, context, and honesty over noise.
Cigars have been part of my life for years. Over time that interest narrowed into a serious focus on Cuban cigars, their houses, their releases, and the way a vitola can change from year to year, region to region, and box to box.
KD Leaf Diaries began as one place to keep tasting notes, scores, release details, and small observations that get lost between one cigar and the next. That private discipline became a public record for collectors and enthusiasts who wanted something cleaner and more serious.
The diary now sits behind Ember Leaf, a private society where that same attention moves from the page to the table.
Collected with patience. Smoked with purpose.
Notes, not marketing. Tasting, scoring, and judgement without hype or borrowed opinions.
A good cigar matters more with the right people around it, and that shapes everything from the diary to the club.
Always chasing context around releases, distributors, markets, vintages, and the stories behind them.
Built in London. Extended across Europe. Focused on the places and people worth the trip.
